So today, I popped to the supermarket to grab some cat food for Jeffrey.
Now, It was only a brief trip and I didn’t really intend on doing much else than buying cat food. But this was not to be so. In fact, it appears that I was also to have a brief audition to be a model.
I’m typing my pin number into the card machine when to my left ear, I hear the voice of the checkout lady.
‘Oh my, what long eye lashes you have?’ … she remarked.
It did start to sound like a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, but a wolf at the checkout didn’t match up to the original plot.
‘Has anyone ever tried to put Mascara’ on you?’ she then questioned…
In slight awkwardness, I paused, looked at her in the eye and kindly laughed as she apologised for her personal comment.
I have indeed been unfortunately blessed with longer eye lashes than a man may wish to have, but I would rather that strangers didn’t point it out if i’m honest…
Speaking of eyes and eyelashes, I wanted to share a very little passage of the bible with you. There’s a guy in the bible called Paul who writes to a group of people called the Ephesians and he says this to them;
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be opened in order that you may know the hope to which God has called you.’
Paul is praying that they may see the full extent of God’s love. That they may be awakened to God’s greatness.
And friends, I pray the same for each and every one of you who reads this blog. May the eyes of your heart be opened, in order that you know the fullness of God.
If you are interested in seeing more of God and perhaps getting to know him – then get in touch with me today and I’d be glad to share my story with you.
Don’t forget to share this blog and join me on FACEBOOK and TWITTER.
Be Blessed,
Tom
