Recipe, Tiffin & Tom

So the reason this blog is posted late, is because today I have spent some of my day off making Chocolate Tiffin as a little surprise for the wife. Tiffin2

I chose to make tiffin because frankly, I know how. I don’t need a recipe, I don’t need to measure anything and I can lick the melted chocolate off the spoon afterwards. With no one to tell me off, I can even do mid-point tasters to check it’s all OK!

It was a highly enjoyable experience, though I had too much biscuit for the amount of chocolate, but none the less, it was successful. I would have preferred it the other way round.

Many of us, like me go through life thinking we know how to do it right. We often believe we have it sussed and that our lifestyle is how it should be.

When I chose to follow Jesus, giving my whole life to him and his purposes, I came to the realisation that actually, I didn’t have much of a clue about life. I thought I did, but truthfully, I discovered that there was so much more than I imagined. It soon became clear that it was Jesus, the son of our creator God, who had the answers.

It makes complete sense. God sent Jesus to live among us. To live a fully human life and yet remain fully divine & holy. It’s through the life of Jesus that I learn to live in a way that honours God, myself & others.

That’s why I use the bible as a recipe for living life as it was intended. Because the bible is like a recipe, an instruction manuel for living life as the creator intended.

So I leave you with a question today – By which recipe are you living your life by?

In a future blog – I’d like to answer questions from readers! If you have a question about me or the Christian faith, however easy or difficult it might be for me to answer – send them through to info@laughingwithtom.co.uk
