The snow is rather like having someone round your house who overstays there welcome. A guest who just doesn’t leave despite the awkward conversation, the polite hints and the consistent outburst of ‘Oh look at the time!’
All is meant well and the guest has no other intention than to continue the fun, but the reality is that everyone is now bored of it. Of course, the snow brings more problems than an overly keen guest. The snow causes muddy carpets, annoying children and a cold toilet seat.
There’s a disadvantage to all of the fun that snow brings:
– School is off = Kids make mess.
– Fun in the snow = Makes us ill.
– Build snowmen = They die.
You see, if we are truthful, snow brings no fun at all. It leads us down the garden path of fun….and then we slip on ice.
We get tearful as our snowmen melt away, leaving just their nose, eyes and shirt buttons as a memorial.
Yet, the life giving God is not like a snowman who melts within a few days, but his presence is eternal and unchanging. He is the same, yesterday, today and forevermore and he wants to be a part of your life. Take a moment to consider your response.
