Cat Attack!

I was awoken at 6:30am this morning by Jeffrey that cat. (Pictured)
It wasn’t his sweet Meow, nor was it a purring face, but instead he decided that he would throw himself jeff2against the bathroom door. Now this is nothing uncommon for Jeffrey having realised that we ignore his sweet meows regardless of how sob-sounding and heart wrenching they become. However, recently it got worse. I think he’s becoming a little frustrated with us.

We have been trying to get him used to being outside. He’s not allowed out prior to an awkward and painful operation later this month whereby certain parts of his body are removed. He doesn’t know this yet!

Natalie decided to put him outside to see how he’d cope.
I say ‘put him outside’, it was more of a ‘launch him’ across the steps.
The poor cat landed directly into a puddle, panicked and ran straight back in. It was like a scene from the titanic, except it lacked the boat.
Natalie was not in his good books. She got the silent treatment from him for the rest of the evening.

It makes me wonder whether Jeffrey ever holds grudges? Does he go to bed at night in a mood because we stopped him eating everything we own?
I wonder whether your perception of God similar to this? Angry at the world, giving silent treatment to us as punishment?

I know a perfect God who values and loves us despite the fact that we have all missed the target of perfection. A God who doesn’t give silent treatment but wants to communicate with us regularly. The anger and frustration of God was taken on the cross with his son Jesus. The rubbish of this world, the garbage in our lives was nailed to the cross and left there too.

Jesus didn’t stay on the cross but rose again and we too can have a new life, a new start.

Know that you are valued and loved by your heavenly father. Know that you can have forgiveness for the past and hope for the future because God desperately wants to connect with you. And so I leave you with the question – Will you connect with him?
