An almighty, terrified scream came from downstairs. Though, this wasn’t just any scream, it was a scream that spoke of terror, panic & fright. Many thoughts went through my mind at this moment – Has Natalie answered the door to the Grim Reaper? Has she encountered aliens? Has she fallen down the loo? It would appear not.
However, she had encountered a creature. An unexpected visitor in our home that to Natalie was a volatile piece of evil, but to Jeffrey the cat, was a potential toy to chase!
It was a daddy long legs!
Yes that’s right – it was no Grim Reaper, it was not aliens and neither had she fallen down the loo – it was a long legged spider!
As I hurried down the stairs, I acted just like any other man would in this situation, I knew exactly what to do, but secretly didn’t want to go near it either. But I had no choice. Natalie wasn’t moving anywhere in the direction of this creature.
So I braved it and approached it with confidence. I took a cup and a bit of card and let it back outside. Then quickly shut the door and washed my hands, and the cup! A self declared wimp in disguise.
This daddy long legs had no intention to hurt or harm us, but it caused Natalie to freak out!
Many people freak out at the thought of connecting with God, but the same applies – God has has no intention to harm us or hurt us, but instead, he wants to give us hope and a future. He wants us to live the most energizing, exciting journey of life that we have ever known.
But God doesn’t force himself into our lives, he gives us the choice to invite him. We can approach him with confidence, with no need to fear, but instead assurance that God wants the best for us.
Instead of freaking out, why not be brave and invite God to reveal himself to you? Contact me if you need a hand!
