This week, I discovered a new App. After the over-use of angry birds, making my face fat, old & bald, it was a relief to discover a new app called ‘the Akinator’.
After a series of questions, a cartoon Genie type character can guess who you are thinking of. You can think of anybody and it claims to be able to work it out.
So Natalie, in her attempts to defeat the Akinator, thought of me. She answered around 100 questions ranging from, ‘Is he funny?’ to ‘Is he fat?’ – Both of which she probably answered ‘No’.
However, much to our surprise, the Akinator got it right. There was my name & the words ‘Laughing with Tom’ below. The second time she did it, it had even found a picture of me!
Magic!
As a Christian, I believe that the creator of this universe knows us all as individuals, not only that but he claims to know the minor details of our lives as well. The Akinator can only tell me limited details, but God knows so much more.
God is not simply a technical gimmick, but he is a living God who knows us because we are his creation, we are his children.
So what does all this mean?
When someone knows the intricate details of our lives, it means that they have invested in us. They have sought to build a relationship with us. It means that they have had a key part in our growing up. Whether we realise it or not, God has invested time in us. You are not a mistake. God knew you before you left your mothers womb. God values you and knows you.
Hear this – God is interested in you. He’s not interested in simply observing you live life, but he wants to live life with you.
He knows you more than you know and understand yourself and he wants the best for you.
