Eye Test

So last week, I had an eye test. I haven’t had one in a few years and so it was time for a check up. I actually quite enjoyed the process, though I regretted not taking a false eyeball to drop out half way through the test. Would have been a laugh….

Anyway, it turns out that despite my family having poor eyesight, I have perfect vision.

I did enjoy the game ‘Spot the Dots’ (creatively named by me) where you stare at a small yellow dot and click a button every time other dots appear around you. It checks your peripheral vision. It was played with the attitude of ‘beat the machine’ rather than ‘test my eyesight’ but none the less, I achieved what I wanted to achieve. Take that eye machine!!

So, no glasses necessary for me, which I am slightly disappointed about, as I can no longer compete against Gok Wan…. But none the less.

It got me thinking though – can we see the full picture when it comes to God and spiritual matters? Have we opened our eyes to see what God is really about?
You might be asking questions like ‘Is God really like what the media portray? ‘Is he bigger and better than past experiences of Christians and church, is he as Interested in me as people tell me?

I meet a lot of people who believe in ‘something’ but have not responded to their belief in any way. When we truly begin to see God, our response is to worship him for he is great. God in all his fullness is impossible to ignore. He’s full of wonder and of mystery. He is worth the effort of exploring.

So I encourage you to ‘Look closer’. Take some time to focus in on who God is and his interest in you. You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.
